Headshot of Multidisciplinary Artist Adela Skarz within a Squiggly Circle

Adela Skarz (b. 2003, New York City) is a multidisciplinary artist based between Brooklyn and Queens, New York. Rooted in both formal training and self-directed exploration, her practice involves oil painting, colored pencil drawing, photography, collage, and fashion design. Skarz studied visual art at American University and John Cabot University, where she completed coursework in drawing, still life painting, printmaking, and photography. This education, combined with disciplined personal practice, informs her evolving approach to materials, composition, and color.

Skarz formally committed to pursuing art in spring 2024, debuting in the John Cabot Spring Exhibition that same year. She is currently working on her largest series to date: an introspective study of visual progression, repetition, and style by redrawing the same bowl of fruit 21 times. Her work is characterized by care, intention, and curiosity, always guided by the impulse to see the world clearly and reimagine it through art.
